Week one home

One of the great benefits to having charlie home (besides discovering what is on TV at 3:00 in the morning while having a bottle) is being able to pass him around to people that were not able to see him as often as they would like. Grandpa Stuart and Grandma Jan came today to do some work on the nursery, and got to spend some time holding him.
Great Grandma also got to hold Charlie for the first time which was very exciting.
But the highlight of the day was taking Charlie for his first walk.

We still say Kirby is #1 (we don't tell him that were speaking chronologically)

Momma, I'm coming home

One month and one day after Charlie Boy came into this world, he came home. It was incredible to see his expression when we walked out the door and the wind hit his face for the first time.
The car ride home was great, he was very calm in his car seat, even though dad was white knuckling it the whole way.
Kirby the dog met him and was very calm and interested, and has been great the whole night, staring at him and acting as our monitor, and he really enjoys cuddling up to him.
Charlie has had a great night and we have begun a routine, it is so great to be able to hold him whenever we want.
We know there are going to be exhausting time ahead, but there is nothing better than looking down at him.

Summer time keeps rolling on

Charlie Boy is still kicking back and relaxing at Rockyview. He is really doing well with the bottle, and is gaining weight, he has put on over a pound and has grown into his feet a little.

We spent a good chunk of time with him today and it was nice, but he really had no desire to be in his bed, wanted to be on our chests most of the afternoon, until it was bath time.

The nursery is getting put together, and we are really anxious for our boy to come home.
I love the little Preemie clothes

Good job Dad!

Question: " When do I meet Kirby?"

I love my mom

Bath Time

The opening line of "there have been a lot of great changes for Charlie over the last few days" is getting a bit redundant, but over the past 3 days he has moved out of his isolette and into an open one, and really has been doing great.
Aunt Sheila and cousin Britni were down to meet him, and Leslie and I were there for his first bath today. I think he liked it.

On the bottle

Charlie has had some pretty big moments the last few days. He has begun to breast feed and take the bottle well. Between pooping all over Dad and spitting up all over Mom he met his Aunt and scored some pretty great Minnesota Twins gear. Chances are he will rebel and become a Yankees fan.
Such a smart boy!

I can suck, swallow and breath all at the same time!

Sleeping is my favorite pastime.

Not so sure about this burping thing!

I never get tired of cuddling my boy!

Thanks for all the great stuff Auntie Kate and Monica!
